I was in a candy store yesterday and guess what I found? Dutch Pocky! O_o I never knew it existed! And it was only 60 cent! I bought a package to see if it's any good! Just tried it out and it tastes the same! This is so much cheaper than buying a package at a con! They should sell them in the supermarket!

It's the same as Pocky, but importing Pocky is expensive, so at a con, the only place you can buy it, such a package is about 1,50 euro or sometimes even 2 euro!

Woah that does sound expensive, not to mention difficult to get :o Here pocky is literally everywhere and it costs about 1 SGD per box (made in Thailand) or 3-4SGD (made in Japan). Which country is the pocky they import from?

This pocky is from the Netherlands, that is why it's so cheap I guess ^___^ Normally they get it from Japan

Haha, it's usually cheaper when it's manufactured in your own country ^^ Here pocky is more commonly imported from Thailand, the Japanese versions are more rare and hard to find unless you specifically look for them in the Japanese foodstores and supermarkets here.

It is, import is expensive!

I though we could only buy the Japanese version, at cons, but it seems there is a Dutch brand too!

Sadly; isn't it the reason why all stuff from Japan is so marked up outside of the country? :/

I think the price of the Japanese version sold at the cons over at your side is about the same as that on my side too haha! Hehe now you enjoy dutch pocky without having to worry so much about the price and availability :> What flavours are available at this candy shop?^^

I think so. And that stuff is hardly ever made in other countries, making it rare and more expensive.

I guess so, it's the same everywhere. But the Dutch is good too. It's chocolate, they didn't have any other. I like strawberry better

Rofl maybe not in European countries but it sure is common here in Asia, not to mention the imitation brands xDDD Can't help but be surprised that they don't have more of their own versions of pocky, the stuff is good :o

You know you are tempting me to send a box full of strawberry pocky over right?8D

No, here in European countries you can't find any of that stuff, so it's all expensive, since it's rare. I wouldn't mind imitation brands at all!

Lol, I wonder if they would survive XD;

The imitation ones (different brand and name) don't taste that nice though :/

The expiry date is usually at least 6-7 months later since they are biscuits so the only problem would be whether my country allows me to send food. If they do, expect a parcel full of yummy pocky~♥ Speaking of which, you have never tasted any other pocky flavours except for Chocolate and Strawberry right?

They're really different?

And if they won't break on their way here XD;; You would have to wrap them well.
I had green tea ones too I think. I liked those as well :)

Kinda; the taste is different (since they are made by different companies afterall) and some are gigantic versions of pocky xDDD

Yeah, I will have to ship them in a box to minimise breakage; hopefully it goes well ^^;
Wow that's a pretty unusual flavour; you bought from a con too?

Yeah but like I said, they don't taste as good as the normal sized pocky ^^; When I go down to the supermarket I will take a photo of them for you :>

Lol, you thought I was kidding?xD
Haha, I will see if I can find the green tea versions here too; I have never really bothered searching since I am already contented with Strawberry :DDD
