I very much think so. And I would have been quite sad had you not decided to share this story. ^___^ (it's certainly different and I tend to enjoy "different" things)
And I also think you have done a wonderful job with Yoshiko. She's neither the super-mom, nor is she the antagonist, but just a very normal human being faced with situation nobody can really help her with.
...and just as a point of interest, did you actually learn german in school or can you just read it since it's similar?
